New Innovative Schools Group launches in the UK

21st January 2026

QED Schools Group, an innovative, international schools group built on a lifetime of expertise and passion for education, has launched this week. The group has been created by an experienced, proven and award-winning senior team of educationalists grounded in the three core values of courage, kindness and integrity.

Led by CEO Anita Gleave, the group will bring together independent schools that share a single ambition: to open minds, broaden horizons and prepare young people for a rapidly changing world. QED Schools Group is named in honour of Graeme Delaney (whose Education Consultancy was called QED). Graeme, who died in 2024, dedicated his almost 50-year career to the care and development of all children. His vision for, and commitment to, truly inclusive education permeated the lives and experiences of generations.

The founding school of QED Schools Group is Wycliffe College, an independent HMC co-educational school in Gloucestershire for children aged 3-18. Wycliffe College joins the Group following a recent hugely successful and affirming ISI inspection, in which the school was awarded a significant strength for an individualised and supportive learning environment

Anita Gleave, CEO of QED Schools Group said, “The Independent School sector in the UK has been battered – first by Covid and then by financial pressures which have led to a mighty tailspin. Sadly, not all schools have survived and there continues to be much consolidation and contraction in the sector”.

“QED Schools Group is resolute in our determination to champion our sector, to promote all that is brilliant about UK education and to build a community of exceptional schools who have every child at their heart. As a group, we honour the best in independent education: integrity, scholarship, community and kindness”.

“The world our children are entering demands agility, curiosity and courage. Whereas traditional thinking prioritised hierarchy, conformity and narrow measures of success, QED schools prioritise individuality, agency, adaptability and character – there is no room for the old school”.
