The QED Compass

At QED we believe in the individual and that every child deserves an education that’s tailored to who they are — not just what the curriculum says.

We believe in understanding and acknowledging their learning mindset and their approach to learning. We believe in adapting the curriculum to the needs of the individual and not the other way around.

The QED Compass is our unique curriculum overlay that each of our schools will engage with and weaving differently to suit their own school community. It sits on top of all national curriculum and the IB and it shapes the way we live and learn as schools.

That’s why we’ve developed the QED Compass: a bespoke learning framework that helps children build the skills, mindset, and confidence they need to thrive in the modern world. It’s not a bolt-on or a one-size-fits-all programme — it’s woven into daily learning, shaped by each school’s context, and built around the aspirations of our pupils.

The Compass focuses on four key strands that together support a child’s growth — academically, emotionally, and practically. It’s been co-developed by leading educational thinkers and is designed to be holistic, flexible, and future facing.
